Self–Assessment Services

Mid-quarter feedback can provide an instructor with valuable information about students' experiences in and perceptions of the course, allowing mid-quarter adjustments where called for. The best time to request feedback is during weeks 3, 4, and 5 of the quarter.

All options are free, voluntary, and confidential. Departments may not request these options for faculty or TAs. Faculty and TAs must contact us directly.

For pointers on using mid-quarter feedback effectively, visit our feedback tips page.

Student Surveys

Seven self-administered surveys, developed for faculty and TAs, that allow you to ask students questions with check-box answers and open ended questions. This is for small classes.

(If you want to customize your survey, use the EMAT.)

Electronic Mid-Quarter Analysis of Teaching (EMAT)

Our most popular and most adaptable option allows you to create customized surveys from our website, which we then mail to you in hard copy format.

If you are familiar with the EMAT process, you may order it now.

Course Assessment

Allows you to assess the effectiveness of a new course using a downloadable, printable form.
